Trash Stack Gouache Works
"Sunrise" was a fantastic piece to see come to completion. As an artist, I had a lot of fun working on the subtle shifts in the yellow and blues of this work. These are two strong colors which I love working with and have always had a natural connection to. One part about "Sunrise" which I enjoy also is the subtle introduction of graphics into the mix of folded cardboard. I have been leaving this kind of thing out of works lately and focusing on the landscape quality of the crushed trash. With this painting though, I had just the right amount to enter in where the written and icon information do not take over from the crushed and folded cardboard. I hope you enjoy this work as much as I do.
